Position Overview

Messingers Hardscape Landscaping Design is hiring an experienced and dependable Crew Leader to oversee residential and commercial hardscape and landscape installation projects. This is a leadership role requiring both field expertise and team management skills.

You’ll be responsible for directing crews on-site, ensuring high-quality craftsmanship, maintaining job site efficiency, and delivering projects that meet both company standards and client expectations. If you take pride in your work and enjoy leading by example, we’d love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily work for hardscape and landscape crews

• Lead the installation of patios, retaining walls, walkways, steps, plantings, and outdoor living spaces

• Read and interpret site plans, blueprints, and design layouts

• Maintain job site safety, organization, and cleanliness

• Communicate clearly with clients, crew members, and management

• Ensure all work is completed on time, on budget, and to company standards

• Train and mentor team members on best practices and techniques

• Track materials and equipment usage and report job progress

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in hardscape or landscape installation

• Previous leadership or crew management experience required

• Strong knowledge of paver systems, retaining walls, plantings, and base preparation

• Skilled in the operation of construction equipment (skid steers, compactors, saws, etc.)

• Ability to read construction plans and grade elevations

• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills

• Reliable, punctual, and organized with a high attention to detail

• Valid driver’s license required (CDL a plus)

Work Schedule

• Full-time: Monday through Saturday

• Standard hours: 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM (with breaks)

• Overtime may be required during peak season
