Hardscape Laborer

Location: Maine | Job Type: Full-Time

Position Overview

Messingers Hardscape Landscaping Design is seeking motivated and reliable Hardscape Laborers to join our growing team. As a Hardscape Laborer, you’ll be an essential part of outdoor construction and landscaping projects including patios, walkways, retaining walls, fire pits, and more.

This role requires physical strength, attention to detail, and a strong work ethic. You’ll work outdoors in various weather conditions alongside a team committed to high-quality craftsmanship and exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with site preparation, excavation, grading, and compaction

• Load and move materials including stone, pavers, gravel, and soil

• Install pavers, stone, and block per design specifications

• Operate hand tools, power tools, and small machinery safely

• Support the installation of retaining walls, steps, edging, and fire features

• Follow direction from crew leaders and foremen on daily tasks

• Maintain clean, organized, and safe job sites

• Perform physical labor such as lifting, digging, and raking

• Represent the company professionally and courteously on job sites

Qualifications

• Experience in landscaping, construction, or hardscaping preferred (not required — we will train motivated candidates)

• Ability to lift 50–75 lbs repeatedly and work outdoors in all weather conditions

• Familiarity with basic construction tools and equipment

• Reliable transportation to and from job sites

• Ability to follow safety protocols and job site standards

• Strong work ethic, team mentality, and willingness to learn

Work Schedule

• Full-time: Monday through Saturday

• Standard hours: 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM (with breaks)

• Overtime may be required during peak season
